Description

Our Fluoro lined silicone hoses use a specially compounded silicone called FluoroSilicone. Standard Silicone rubber is porous, therefore not suitable for oil/gas and fuel. This grade is specially formulated to prevent oil from penetrating the wall. We only use the highest concentration of 80/20 mix of flurosilicone to give you the best possible resistance against oil.

Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, fuel vapour, mineral and synthetic oils and greases, and suitable for use with mineral-based hydraulic fluids.Chemical properties

Its more general use is limited by high gas permeability, low tensile strength and poor resistance to tear and abrasion. We would not recommend Fluorosilicone for Fuel lines, or heavy use of Fuel Filling, Occasional fuel usage and vapour will be fine. Rubber materials such as Nitrile or Neoprene are best suited for Fuel.

Fuel & oil silicone hoses are designed to connect metal pipe work and components in systems that contain hydrocarbon fluids such as petrol, diesel, oil and solvents. The fluoro Silicone liner allows short term contact with these fluids and vapours, but is not suitable for permanent transfer (fuel or oil lines), or immersion in fuel or oil.

Apart from the fluoro liner these hoses are constructed to the same standards as our water & air silicone hoses. They have the same ability to maintain material flexibility over the lifespan of its use, where in some conditions, rubber hoses are at risk of splitting, hardening, or dry rot.
